About LaToya Drake, MS

Real food. Real stories. Real good eating.

Hey y’all, I’m LaToya, a Kentucky girl who believes good food has the power to bring people together, heal communities, and tell stories that words sometimes can’t. I grew up learning how to make the most of what we had, stretching ingredients, cooking with love, and celebrating small moments around the table. Those early lessons shaped everything I do today.

How to Eat Good! is my way of paying that forward. It’s where I share what I’ve learned from years of working with families, farmers, and food educators, from hands-on cooking demos and community gardens to creative storytelling and recipe development. My mission is simple: help folks feel confident in the kitchen, eat seasonally, reduce waste, and make food that feeds both body and soul.

You’ll find real-life tips here, inspired by Kentucky’s seasons and people, whether it’s how to turn farmers’ market finds into budget-friendly meals or how to make that “what’s-left-in-the-fridge” dinner taste like Sunday supper.

When I’m not cooking, you’ll probably catch me at a local market, tending a few container plants, or dreaming up new ways to make nutrition education more fun and accessible. This space is for anyone who wants to learn, laugh, and of course, eat good!
